My speedometer is acting up, it showed 35mph when I know I'm doing at least 45-50mph, no engine probs. at all. Is there a way to pressure test it? The tab on the stern looks to be original and maybe worn can I replace just that? Any advice would help Thanks ...Pat

find the piece of crap plugging up the pitot, then blow air from the speedo, thru the tube

Re: speedometer replacement ???

I whacked a semi-submerged and very punky chunk of wood with my Alpha outdrive several years ago. Immediately after my speedo stopped working. I discovered the pickup or pitot along the leading edge just above the prop got all plugged with soft wood. Careful picking and poking with a pin opened it up again and the speedo once again worked.
