trying to remove lower unit on a 1990 johnson, 120hp. I have the lower unit unbolted and it has droped about 1/2 inch but somehting is holding it from dropping all the way. Is it the drive shaft? If so, how do I disconnect it???

Is there a shift rod that needs to be disconnected? Do you have a manual?
Some times they can be a b*tch to get off.

How many times are you going to post this question? It was answered in the thread you hijacked. The shift rod disconnect point is located under the bottom carb. Put a couple of the bolts back in to relieve pressure on the shift rod. Then disconnect it. Failure to do so will have the lower unit laying on the floor with a broken or bent skeg if you don't.
