Hello,
This is my first post here.
I am about to purchase a 1984 Sea Ray w/ a Mercruiser 350 engine with a 260 outdrive? but would like some advice first.
Can anyone please provide some information/history on this outdrive. It says 260 right on the outdrive. I know of the 888,889, Alpha 1, and Bravo 1,2,3.
I was a little confused when I saw the 260, the owner didn't have any info either.
Is this a good outdrive?
I only ask if it is a good one because I never really see it on boats even from that same year range. I don't want to get into anything the might pose problems. Everything looks good, engine is running well with only about 300 original hours and the owner says he had it serviced annually before each season.
I was expecting to see an Alpha One outdrive since Sea Ray seems to use it on large percentage of their boats.
Any information would be great.
