1982 mercury 70 hp, originally started missing when warm, changed switchbox, bought coils, plugs etc... Now it won't run at all, pulled the plugs out to check for spark, only the number 2 plug is firing, So i tried different plugs on the other two cylinders and no fire, took the firing number 2 coil and moved it to cylinder 1 and still no fire, but the number 2 cyl did fire / spark with the other coil, so basically I only have spark on the number 2 cylinder / coil. And basically I don't know what the problem is ..LOL!!! any ideas?????

Try swaping the trigger wires around to see if the "no spark" cylinders change.

I would gladly try that, do you know which wires are the trigger wires, and how should I switch tem around???? Sorry really new to these engines, need specific instructions to do it...thank you
