How in the world do I drop the lower unit (92 Capri w/120 L drive) to change the impeller? I've puller the 6 bolts, shifted forward and backward and the thing won't budge. I heard there is a retainer or some such but I can't find it.
If it's anything like the Force outboard, you must take off the exhaust spout (2bolts), and then there is one more bolt underneath that to take out, then you should be able to remove the lower unit. Don't forget to take out the pin on the shift rod first.
