I have an Evinrude 200HP outboard. Model is 200649S (1976). I recently bought it and would like to change the lower unit gearbox oil. What engines have the electric shift? Is that only the stern drive units? I don't know where to go to find out for sure.

last year for electric shift was 1972. you have mechanical shift. the oil you need is, 80/90 outboard motor, lower unit oil. it has additives for water intrusion. also always replace the washers of the vent and drain plugs when ever removed. they are the #1 reason for water intrusion.
