A part broke on our 99 30hp four stroke outboard motor this weekend. It's a carb fitting on the side of the top two carbs. It's plastic. The middle one was broken, and when we touched the top one, it crumbled in our hands.
From the Fiche, it looks like you need to buy the whole top of the carbs ( times two! ), and the price is $400+ each!
When you pull the plastic off, there is a brass piece underneath, but I don't think it's threaded.....
I've attached a fiche and I have put an arrow on it to indicate the part needed. I've also attached a fiche which has all three carbs stacked and point out which ones are plastic and brass.
The top two have this plastic fitting that crumbles. The bottom one is brass (90 degree fitting), and the top two carbs have plastic (they are a 'y' fitting).
Dealers don't have the part separate from the top carb (I've attached that Fiche too).
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience, and if they were able to locate a brass fitting that we can use instead of buying the whole top of the carb?
