I have a 1987 25 hp Mariner,sometimes , usually shortly after start up, the motor losses power,after a while it will return.This happens about every other fishing trip. The last time it happened I pull the spark plug wire off of #1 cylinder and the motor would not run,so I put it back on and remove the spark plug wire from cylinder #2 and the motor would run at the lower power.So when it is doing this it is only running on cylinder #1. I check the connections on the coil and plugs they are clean and tight.I am thinking it may have a bad coil. Does anyone know if a coil can work sometimes ,but not always.Any thoughts on this.
