Mercrcruiser 5.0 Alpha One running hot

I have a SeaRay 230 sundancer with a 5.0 alpha one mercruiser. It's running hot at WOT (approx. 4200 rpm) it will spike up to 220 ferenheit and the temp alarm goes off. When I back it down to 3000 rpm the temp gauge reads in the green zone and the alarm goes off. I just had a series of repairs done to it (including replacing the impeller) what could be causing this and is this a DIY job or do I need to wait for 3weeks to have a certified marine mechanic finally get around to it.
p.s. it never did this before the repair work!
I'd greatly appreciate any advice

What year?.....
It didn't do it before?.....
I'd take it back & demand that they make it a priority......;)
You may be able to fix it yourself.....:)​

I definitly would be sitting and waiting on them to fix right then and there..:mad:
