Re: 12hp surging under load
Hello Eric and welcome to Iboats. Need more information on the surge. When it surges does the RPM Shoot up with no speed burst or does the speed shoot up. It could be a spun prop or a bad carb. Test the prop with a permanant marker. Draw a line on the prop to the prop nut. Verify after a surging episode that the marks you made on the prop still line up. If not the prop hub is spun and will need to be replaced. If lines line up I would look at the carb needing rebuilding with a new needle and seat.
