I am taking on the task of rebuilding my carbs on a 69 85 hp johnson. I have seen rebuild kits for $12 to $32. I want to get a good product with everything I will need, but I also don't want to buy stuff I don't need.

Suggestions?

-thanks

The best kits are OEM from the dealer. This is not an area to skimp. Alot of the kits will have parts you will not use. They are made for several different models. But be assured that one from the dealer will have everything that you need and it will fit...

Got the oem kit for my carb and came with it all including float, as most aftermarket sell float assembly seperate... Just make sure ya check your float when you install as it as first carb rebuild for me and I put it in upside down!

Re: carb rebuild kit selection

I guess I'll spring for the $60 for the two OEM rebuild kits. I was hoping to spend less (my allowance for this baot is slim) but it sounds like I'm better off getting the right kit.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.
