Does anyone know what C-90- 68647 means or stands for on a Mercury service manual ? Seems to cover from 1966 thru 1974 and is over 1" thick.

Re: service manual

That's the part number of the manual. Early Merc products were separated into Mercury and MerCruiser. As a dealer, you could be an outboard dealer, sterndrive dealer, or both. The letter in front designated which kind of dealer could purchase that part. I forget what letters stood for what, but I think A was OB, B was SD, and C was Both. That's no longer the case, it no longer matters. The early manuals covered all models for a given time period. They're broken down much more specifically now.

Thanks Willy I don't need this manual anymore and will be posting it for someone that needs it . You have been very helpful with some of my problems and if it is of use to you I will send it to you .But I am sure that guys like you and Laddies could write this manual.
