Back in 2000, I moved into a water-front home in southern Ontario. Thousands of carp have died over the past few weeks creating an unbelievable stench. Based on the bloated and hemorrhenging carcasses, many people believe that the hemorrhagic septicemia virus is respondsible. To make things worse, waterfowl and gulls that usually number in the thousands are nowhere to be found anywhere on the lake:
