I HAVE A 1997 MARINER 225 EFI OUTBOARD AND IT HAS THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM -- PLEASE HELP!!!
The engine starts great, idles good (runs a little rough at low speed). When running the engine for a few minutes at high speed (4,000-5000 RPM) it sounds good.
But, when I pull back the throttle to about 2,000 RPM it suddenly stalls. Sometimes I can start it back up right away, but usually it won't re-start for about 2-3 minutes (just cranks like it's not getting fuel?). Why would it start after sitting for a couple of minutes?
So far I have replaced the fuel line from the tank to the engine, installed a new RACOR fuel filter/water seperator (with clear bowl on the bottom), also installed a new primer bulb.
The above fuel line replacement did not change anything (except for me spending lots of time and $$$ for nothing). Any ideas would be greatlly appreciated!
