You'll burn up your motor. If its sitting that high the intakes for the impeller (water pump) are out of the water. Even if they were in the water...being that high up you will not get any thrust..only cavitation

its a 25 hp with on a 15 ft runabout not enough power but all i could afford at the time it had a 35 hp evinrude on it when i got it tore it down and found a broke crank i just went out and looked again the top of the propeller is almost evev with the bottom of the boat transome not the strongest dont think it could hold anything over 50 hp what can i do to lower propeller cut down the transome a little?

that or a mini jack plate to lower it. they are usually to raise the motor but can work.

how does that work it mounts on the transome and mount the motor on it?

It isn't the position of the prop you should be looking at. The antiventilation plate (the flat plate just above the prop) should be even to an inch above the bottom of the hull.

Dont cut the transom...great way to ruin the boat. Tashasdaddy's answer is the best one and cheaper than getting a new motor!

Yep. It bolts to the transom, you hang the motor from it, and then you can adjust the motor up and down a couple inches, how much depends on the jack plate you get.
