I just picked up my new 2008 Regal 2000 20'BR w/ Volvo 280GiSX 5.7L 1.5 ratio on Sat. I would like to get a spare prop for it as soon as I can. Current specs 2.5 hrs, 14.5x21 Volvo alum, 57mph(speedo) @ 4250 rpm. Book says 5000 max rpm. Should I wait for the 20 hr break in period? Will going down to a 20" pitch change much? I haven't decided on Stainless or Alum yet. I boat on Lake Mead so I sometimes need to cover alot of water fast especialy if the wind comes up but fuel economy is important. Also some tubing and water skiing. No wake boarding. I know, I'm like all the rest I want the perfect prop. Fast, lots of torque, Fuel efficient and cheap.

P.S. I love this boat and my dealer. Hope the feeling lasts. :)

A few thing's put at least 50 hrs on the engine
get a gps

How do you verify the acuracy of a tach?
