I have just been given a 1987 Teka openbow 19' boat. It has a AQ131D Volvopenta engine, with no engine support, is this thing supposed to hang off the transom or should there be an engine support of some kind
thanks anybody?:confused:

Is it an inboard/outboard?
IE, the engine is inside the boat & the thingy with the propeller on it outside the boat?.........:D​

inboard, I tried to find a picture of the boat on the internet seeing as it is'nt a boat manufacturer that i've heard of until now.::redface:

I know there's 1 of those old Volvos that just Hangs out there,..........

Never Seen 1,...... But they're talked about here on the board........

This post got me curious... You can download a manual from the Volvo site.

There are no manuals available in English, but if you put in Dutch as the prefered language you get to choose between Swedish, French, Germany, Spanish, etc. But pictures are pictures.

Here is a pic of one. Everything hangs on the transom. Some of the engine parts (not electrical, fuel or exhaust) are the same as the automotive Volvo 240's, the "Rubber Band Motor".

Yes, It's supposed to be that way......
I saw a houseboat one time that had two of them installed, CRAZY looking!!
