I'd like to get some good advice on how to get the shift rod released from under the carbs. I've got a 2000 johnson 70 hp. It does not have a hex head bolt to release the shift rod. I've seen a release pin used in some other models but this one seems to be stuck. I've sprayed it with pb blaster and before I go to town on it I want to know if there is anything else I should consider.
