I have a Ted Williams 1973 gamefisher 7.5 Hp. One of the reeds is broken off. Apparently from the Sears website they are no longer available. Does/has anyone been able to find them.
Thanks

Try a Lawnmower dealer. There should be a flag on the powerhead with the Tecumseh numbers on it. With those numbers (640-06B?), a lawnmower dealer can look up the engine and order the reeds.

Another source might be certifiedpartscorp.com. They're pretty good on those Eska-based outboards, and have most parts. You'll need the sears model number or the number off the tag on the powerhead.

If all else fails, there are thousands of these out there in non-running condition. Broken reeds are rare. You might want to hunt down a parts engine.

Broken reeds are rare, as already said. Not being familiar with that engine, do the reeds have stops? Some people like to bend the stops to let the reeds open further and go faster. That doesn't work, but it does cause reeds to break. I'd replace the stops too, if it even has them. Another thing that will cause them to break is flipping them over in an attempt to get them to close tighter. Flipping them causes them to flex in the opposite direction and fatigue and break.
