1955 johnson powerhead on a 1955 evinrude?

i seen a 1955 johnson 10 HP power head on ebay and was wondering if it would work on my 1955 7.5 HP evinrude fleettwin?thanks

I'd bet Tasha's daddy knows the answer to this. Probably will. As I recall over the years, I have seen blue/green engines on boats from time to time.

My response will bump it up so that he might catch it.

ok thanks i really hope so.but its a little bit different in HP.so i am not sure.they look pretty much the same.

I don't think it will work.While they are listed in the same section in my old after market service manual.It shows a different blowup for the power heads and also for the leg/gearcase.
The 10 is 16.60 cu. in. the 7.5 is 12.40. As I recall the legs appear distinctly different as well.

It will not work. The 10hp will bolt up to a 15hp leg of the same year, though...

Scott got here first. green and blue mix, but has the be the right ones.
