I need to paint my tansom in a gray paint . I have not been able to find a gray paint for under the waterline . So If I used a below the waterline type primer and then top it with a good paint like perfections would it work ? my boat is always trailer and only spends one week at a time , once a year in the water . Thanks for your input ! JJB

Perfection is not a bottom paint, it can be used below the water line and they recomend multple layer's of prime kote if your painting there. However 5 continous days of exposure would be to long in salt water im sure.

Call them and ask the expert's there quite helpful. Yacht Paint.com

I called interlux for the same reason and I think they said if you use topside paint below the waterline, the boat could not be left in the water for more than 72 hours. I used interlux brightside about a week ago on my transom. I was unsure how it would turn out but it looks good.
