Default sand and paint aluminum

Any do’s and don’ts for sanding and painting a old aluminum jon boat? just FYI I'm an unoffical member of the redneck yacht club and spray paint would work best for me.

I have heard a wire brush on a drill is not a good way to remove old paint. how about aircraft paint striper.

Wire brush can start a reaction and make the aluminum break down over time (faster than normal) If you must...... use a soft stainless steel brush.

Paint stripper will work too.

Wouldn't a true redneck boat have pink bondo spots ans primer gray spots too???
