I'm looking at a 1982 Sea Ray 225 Express Cruiser. It has a 5.0 Mercruiser that has 800 hrs on it. Is that alot of hours for a boat and am I going to have to rebuild in the near future if I buy it? Any help is appreciated, Thanks

Not really for that year, but what is way more important is how it was maintained. It's not a guarantee but generally if the boat is in good condition cosmetically and stucturally, chances are the the engine was taken pretty good care of, but if the boat is in rough shape, the motor probably has been neglected too. A very well maintained V8 can get upwards of 2000 hrs before rebuild.
