Bought little fishing boat. Motor starts runs a few second and stops. Can keep running using choke and throttle. Replaced fuel filter, spark plugs, checked fuel lines. Not sure of year. Called dealer they said about 1978. Any ideas appreciated.

Rebuild your fuel pump. Also be sure the primer bulb is soft and pliable (no cracks). If the motor has been sitting for a while you may need to rebuild the carb, change lower unit oil and replace the impeller as they can dry rot from sitting.
