1990 Sea Ray, 260 hp, Mercruiser Alpha drive. I had the shift handle apart all winter while I replaced the floor and stringers. When I got the boat back together, the shift handle no longer locks in the neutral position ( it did before). The lock rod and lock pin inside the handle appear to be okay..... at
least I don't think there is excessive wear. What did I do wrong? The unit will lock the first time after reassembly, but, thereafter it will not lock at the neutral position. Did I lose a spring or something? Don't see one in the Mercruiser picture.
