I guess I went one turn too far when screwing in the dipstick. Any suggestions other than ordering a new one, they are about $120.00. I'm thinking about tapping a larger hole and installing a plug for now but I noticed there is a hole in the threads on the cover that probably doesn't need to be obstructed. Thanks for any help.

Replace the cap, it's cheaper than a drive if you screw it up.
That is also not a 97 drive. The DP-A series were used from 87 to 91. The 97's were in the DP-D series.

Thanks Don for your input. I just thought the outdrive was the same year as the motor, now i know for sure.
