I have a problem with my 1973 mercruiser stern drive. I started it up this spring and my motor over heated. Looking into the problem I discovered that the water hose that takes the water from a fitting on the bell housing to a fitting on the gimbal housing, has part of it missing. It doesnt seem that I can get to the clamps to remove the hose and replace it without pulling the whole lower unit away from the bell housing. I hope I can do it myself as I cannot afford to take it someplace, unless absolutly nessessary. Can somebody please help me in solving this matter, I want to get it on the lake!
