I am working on a 125 ELPTO with the <sarcasm>wonderful feature</sarcasm> of running on 2 cylinders below 2000 rpm.

Over all the engine is running good, but we are trying to mount a Humminbird 998 Side Scan sonar on the boat.

The side scan feature has to run below 10 mph, and running it with the kicker motor, side scan works well on the boat.

Also running the sonar in downward only mode works well with either Merc motor.

But with the main motor on, below 10mph (hence 2 cylinder mode) we are getting a nasty interference with the side scan.

Should I be looking electrically, or is this just a vibration thing (which I tend to believe) with this motor? We already have resistor plugs on the motor.

Re: Vibration

i think this should be in the electrical forum, as it deals with the interference of the fishfinder. also contact Hummingbird support.
