OK here goes,
I recently purchased a John boat with a 20 hp motor, from my father in-law.
he and a friend replaced the water pump. just before i bought it.
He told me before i bought it that after start up it pumps water fine, for around 1- 2 min then it quits pumping water. I verrified this, also the lower unit gets very hot.
my question's for you all are
1. is it possible they could have installed the Pump wrong?
2. Is there somewhere on the net i could find a pdf of the engine and breakdown of the components?
The motor is an evinrude M#: E20CRCEM S#:R08194401
I am assuming from the S# that the motor was made in 1981.
Any help would be greatly appreciated..
