hey every body! I've got a potential problem with my controls (power pilot). I replaced my 1976??135 horse evinrude with an 81?? 200 horse evinrude and kept the controls for my 135 and hooked them up to the 200. Now when the key is in the on position there is a buzzing coming from the controls. Is this normal can it just be disconnected. If anyone can offer some insight it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: buzzing in controller

That's your overheat indicator. Most likely a bad sensor or pinched wire. Look for the overheat sensor in the head and the tan wire leading to it. The circuit is energized when the key is the "on" position and waiting for a ground to complete it. Pull the wire from the sensor and try it. If it stops it is your sensor, if it doesn't the wire is pinched and grounding.
