gas leaking

I have a 1988 searay seville with 100 hp mercury motor. Whan I move the motor trim up or down I get a gas leak out of the front of the motorat the bottom. I am complete novice. It looks like the connector for the fuel line is not holding firm.

there is a good chance that it is the connecter as you say it leaks both ways. Most motors when tilted all the way up will leak fuel out of the carbs though
