Ive got a force 120 horse, 1995. My controller is a quicksilver 3000. The button on my controller doesn't work in gear only out of gear. the button on the motor works all the time. Do you think the controller is bad ore something else. has anyone had this problem, and how did you trouble shoot it

Probably a loose or broken wire in the controller.

Push throttle forward.
Pop out the throttle only button in the center of the handle.
Remove the now exposed nut in the center.
You should now be able to disassemble the controls and separate the handle to expose the trim switch and wiring.

good job, took apart the handle, found broken wire, repaired, good as new
