ok i have ask on this same motor. but i have a 80 15hp johnson. one day i tock it out and it stoped run wide open so a man told me to take the rich an lean screw out spray deep creep in it let it set then blow it out with air. so i did and it didnt help so today i took the carb off cleaned it really good sprayed ever hole out bowl had alot of trash in it. then ent got new plugs and both are fireing good. so do yall think i got bad gas. and i checked the fuel pump it is pumping good thanks

I check gas two ways. By smell and by feel. If it smells like bad gas, it's bad gas. But bad gas can still smell fine. That's when I feel it. It should be cool on the fingers. If it's warm, it's bad. Evaporation cools. If it stays warm, it isn't evaporating. If it doesn't evaporate, it doesn't burn.
