milky lower unit

had my bellows replaced on my 87 3.0 mercruiser but the transom still had a leak. had the transom replaced and checked the lower unit oil before I PUt it back in the water and it was a little milky. What should it look like if it's good?

It should look like motor oil (amber brown color) but thicker. Unless you use the high perfromance oil, that is green.
