I just recently purchased a mercury outboard boat motor. The guy that we purchased this from said that the water pump is bad and needs replacing. He did not have the service manual for it. We have been told by other people that the water pump is easily replaced. The question that I have is how do we go about replacing the pump.

I have a bad pump as well. Do I need any special tools to remove the lower unit and where is the serial no.?
