between a 1984 Evinrude crossflow 90 and a newer looper 115 or ETEC 115? And if there is, how much faster would you expect one to be? 5 mph? more? The boat in question is a 16ft fiberglass bassboat, rated for a 115 that runs 42.5 mph with the 90.

You would notice a lot better hole shot with the looper.

Either 115 should give you a few mph top end.

crank rated 90 versus prop rated 115 should be around 10 mph

Without a doubt faster but by how much will depend on set up.
