Decided to make the converting before this season, getting tired of the prop slipping............

My existing lower unit should be 100%, but it's still slipping :( .
It got all new seals
Correct oil ( no water )
New electric wires ( ALL the way )
Good battery ( good charging )
New hub/clutch spring ( whole forward assembly, bought from Joe R :) )
Tested multiple propellers.

My conclusion....my engine got to much power for this LU/boat/propeller.
( 15 foot boat, running 40 miles at 5000 rpm, turning a 10" x 12" propeller )

Just finished rebuilding a manuel lower unit, currently working on the shift linkage....BUT I am missing the "shaft & arm assembly" part #379240, anyone ?? :).

I am reusing the exhaust hosing from the 90, just drilled out the plug.
Had to do some cutting/welding on the lower front motor cover to enable the shift lever, got it working nicely .

Could the prop slippage be due to a bad hub?

No :( , got 4 propellers, all tested.

And yes they were tested for slippage .

Anyway, are halfway with the work already :), just working on the linkage between the exhaust leg and the shift lever, all linkage inside leg + lower unit are finished ( just missing some paint ).
