Johnson 50HP Pulser and Fuel Filter

Having some running performance issues,

Rebuilt the fuel pump and Carbs,

Question: When I examined the pulser, it was clean. It is a check valve? I could blow through both ways??

One more, should the fuel filter (OMC Plastic) be filled? Mine has a small amount of gas even after pumping the ball??

The pulse limiter is/has a check valve, but it closes on higher pressure than just gently blowing through it. It is necessary that it be cleaned, and that the blue end face the pump.

If the check valve stops functioning it will damage the pump, and can cause failure of the oil supply, damaging the engine.

Yep. And make sure it has the Blue pulse limiter installed and as for the filter, is it never completely full..
