Re: Breaking News

I liked Tony Blair. I loved to listen to him responding in Parliament.
Regardless of the reason for his 'stepping down', he has been at it for over 10years. IMHO, that is long enough for any leader, in a democracy.

Iraq was his final undoing but I hope that he will eventually be proved right.

LT, in a parliamentary system, the peoples representatives put the PM into power, or take him out. I think in Blairs case, it was his own party that pressured him to resign, they didn't want to have to vote him out. And it will be his party that places the next PM.

Term limits, I say!

Congress - 4 yrs & OUT.

Pres - change to 6 yrs & OUT - no re-election.

That'll clean things up immeasurably.

Spot on.
I have said limits for years.
These 90 some years old people don't need to be in the congress and senate, IMO.

Re: Breaking News

Once in office, you amass a bigger war chest, and more name recognition than anyone who runs against you. Hard to get rid of them; heck, I want some of them in my own party outta there.
