I recently purchased a 19ft Bowrider with a 91 OMC Cobra v6 I/O in it. I have been trolling on lakes at about 2.5 - 3mph for a half an hour to an hour at a time. The engine is really bogged down and has a hard time planing out and getting up to normal speed after trolling. I just replaced the plugs and check the wires and dist cap. The fuel filter was just replaced this year. After a while of riding eventually the motor returns to normal, is there any long term damage that can occur from driving real slow? thanks

Re: 91 OMC Cobra Trolling Problem

I've put over 650hrs on My V6,........ 90% was Trolling, at 1mph ,+ up........

I rebuilt the Carb,+ Leaned it out in the Low side,........ It Fixed My issue with it.....
The Factory Settings were Way Too Rich.........

What Color,+ Condition were the Plugs in when you pulled them,.... And had you been trolling or running fast just before you pulled them,..??....

I replaced the plugs right when I got the boat so I am not sure how the guy before my rode it. When I pulled them they had a lot of carbon build up and where almost solid black in color. Thanks
