Will cables & controls work?

Will the cables and controls off my 1988 Mercury 115 inline six work on a 2005 Mercury 90? Are the plug ins the same and will the shift and throttle cables work? Thanks

I think so. The main harness plugs changed late last year, but were the same til then since the late 70s or early 80s.
