Well, I think my problems were multiple...here are the things that I think helped out:

*cleaned out the fuel system - new filters, drained the gas tank, rebuilt the carb
*reset the timing - the timing was way off
*Ignition stuff - plugs, wires, distributor cap & rotor, ignition control module, ignition coil..

The boat now runs pretty well at low RPM's (below 2500). It does not want to run above 2500 while in the water & in gear...I'm thinking this could be low fuel pump volume? It looks like I am getting a full range of motion from the throttle linkage...the little link on the throttle body is opened up all the way at full throttle.

The fuel system is about as clean as I think I can get it...do you guys have any other ideas as to what could be holding her back?

As before, thanks in advance...

My 92 4.3LX wouldn't crack 3000rpm after the marina did a mechanical on it. I could feel a slight miss out on the water...anyhow #5 and #6 wires were crossed. 30 seconds later and what a difference!
