waterpump bolts on 25 Merc ?

I got a 1 year subscription to Seloconline.com and they're telling me to put loctite 271 on the waterpump bolts.Doesn't that seem a bit much ? I've used gasket sealing compound in the past.

If you use 271 you will never get the bolts out again, this is why the only manual to use is a OEM manaul

Red loctite is only removed with heat or impact wrench.

I see your point but Seloc states that their manuals are approved by the major manufacturers.

If Mercury stated Seloc is the same as Merc,that is quite a statement.

For Seloc to state they are the same as Merc ....... meaningless.

On the otherhand,while I down-play aftermarket manuals,you won't know until you see them both and compare for yourself.

Matt, go to your dealer and ask a mechanic if you dont trust the advice here. Otherwise why ask here at all.:cool:
