Hello, I just got a boat which sat for about 3 years, but ran fine when parked. I flushed the tank, lines etc. and have found I have no spark coming out from the coil. Not sure if this could be a coil problem or ignition module problem or??? Anyone have any advice? I have some experience working with cars, and outboards are definately different in many ways. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Model number of the motor is 757H9E and the serial number is 6422
Thanks,
Larry

Alas the most likely culprit is the MagnaPower module. (I think that's what they call it, Magna-something) I don't think you can get those anymore. That could be why the boat was sold. Famous last words, "It ran fine the last time we used it"...(thought but not spoken, "until it died and we had to be towed in.") Rapair.com might offer a replacement unit. I wouldn't trust any used one. I also wouldn't assume that an expensive failed ignition amplifier is the culprit. It could be as simple as a corroded ignition switch.

You'll need a manual to troubleshoot it. You can order one from the iboats Marine Store, or maybe you can borrow one from your public library. Many have them.
