I have a brand new humminbird 737 tm fishfinder. I have installed it exactly to the installation specs, the problem is that it keeps losing the bottom. It will reed 800 feet and I know the water is only 10 feet or so. It will read fine when sitting still but as soon as I start moving it shows an eratic depth, can anyone help me on this. thanks

Try raising the xducer a little and tip the back of it down just a little. You may have to relocate it as that problem is often caused by to air getting under it while moving.

I tried lowering it, raising it. and nothing works, it still shows and eratic depth, I am going to see if I can get a replacement unit.

If the transducer is too close to the prop or behind a strake on the hull it could be causing your problem .
