I have a 1991 J115TLAIE and am trying to understand timming/throttle linkage. I have a clymers but still slow on the uptake. There is no timer base stop on this unit. The timming link is connected to the throttle with a small roller. This roller moves around in the opening. Opening in throttle link .5 and roller is about .375. At wot the timmer base link moves around and can still advance quite alot. Is this correct? I don't see how. What am I missing? Is something missing in linkage? A related question. Tell me how the initial pickup timming is affected by the throttle amplifier when that linkage doesn't connect to the timmer linkage at all? I'm confused and clymers is as clear as mud. HELP!
