Have read thru the other threads on this topic, so thanks for the insights. To recap, my engine idles/revs great with no load and runs great once it planes out and reaches some RPM, but bogs down badly during holeshot.
I had a good local boat shop do a tune last summer and they also rebuilt the carb. They made a comment about the carb: "that's the best we could do with a kit and next step is a new carb."
Questions based on the other threads:
1) Dirty fuel filters and other non-carb fuel delivery issues: would she still run fine at speed with those problems?
2) "Interrupt/cutoff switch that cuts out 2 cyl when shifting": Is this real? If so, is this just during holeshot or all the time while in gear, which would make it very easy to check out?
3) Dwell/gap/timing should have been set during the tune, right?
4) Does it make sense that a 20+ year old carb would just be worn out beyond rebuilding and need to be replaced?
