I have a 150EFI offshore Mercury. I just bought it used dont understand the warning beeps. when i turn the key and get three to four beep the engine will start after a few minute at idle or more quickly at 2k rpms the engine dies and then I get e fast beep.beep.beep.beep that keeps going til i turn the key off. The engine seems that it is running out of fuel but i have check all possibities on the fuel sytem. i am told that tpe of beep indicates an oil problem. while it was beepin i unplugged the wire from both the top of the tank and one from the oil injector pump. when the key is turned off and back on i get only onebeep and it will not crank. I noticed today the if I push the key in as if to chcke it then turn the key off and back on it goes back to the three beeps and cranks but soon dies agail with the sambeep.beep.beep.beep... Any ideas? I have changed all the plugs and thee impellar anf thermostats. I do not believie it is a temoperaturre problem

have you checked the reserve tank for air? Remove the cap and top it off with oil. If there is air in the tank it will keep the float switch froom going to the top thus setting off the alarm..........Jerry
