I just got this motor last week, it is my first vintage motor. I have messed around with several outboards before but none this old. Under the cowling it says to us 1/2 pint S.A.E. 30 grade to 1 gal. gas. Just wondering if i can us a regular 2 cyl. outboard oil. and if so what ratio should i mix it for this motor?

tcw3 outboard motor oil mixed 24-1 these engine were before the tcw 3 rating on oil. i love the 50's engines, just restored a 58 35 johnny. had a 55 15 rude. for around $140 you can make it like a new engine, carb kit, coils, points,condenser, wires, impeller. also do a decarb, probably never done.
