I recently acquired a Ted Williams 7.5 hp motor, and would like some info regarding the year and possibly operating/repair manuals...It is a model 217/585888-0
s/n 6D 061379. If you have any info as to where I can aquire the manuals, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

Welcome to iboats. :)

217.585880 is a 1975. I don't see an 888.

Try www3.sears.com for parts.

For parts that Sears doesn't have for that and other Eska-based outboards, try

www.certifiedpartscorp.com

You won't find parts listings for most things, but if you call on the phone, you'll find that they have most stuff for those outboards. Things go faster if you have the part number, and you can get that from the Sears parts site.

For my Eska 9.9, I printed the parts diagrams and parts lists from the Sears site, so I have a parts reference at hand.

The s/n and model # of my 1975 7.5 hp Ted Williams point to a Eska engine, however When I removed the engine cover a few days ago to re-paint,
I noticed a Tag on the engine identifing it as a Tecumseh engine with the following numbers:
640-13
TECUMSEH
7819566
Is this a "outlaw" motor that someone put together with spare parts or is this an additional version of this engine?
